Michele Drascek (1974; Gorizia, Italy), is an independent curator and archivist. Graduated in Higher Education and Didactics at the Department of Educational Sciences, University of Trieste, he holds a MA in Curating at Chelsea College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London.
As freelance curator, he has been working also in curatorial collectives, developing projects for different organizations and working in public institutions. His interest includes also research and classifying archives, nurture researches in the field of Art History, activating projects such as publishing and collaborations with museums and collections.
He has collaborated with several institutions, among others: Contemporary Art Centre Villa Manin, Cittadellarte Michelangelo Pistoletto Foundation, Observatory on the Balkans (Italy); Moderna Galerija, Narodna Galerija, SCCA Center for Contemporary Art and Kino Šiška Center for Urban Culture (Lubiana, Slovenia); Chelsea Space, Tate Modern, Flat Time House and Royal College of Art (London, UK); FLACSO Latin American Faculty on Social Studies (Quito, Ecuador); Stacion Center for Contemporary Art (Prishtina, Kosovo); Pioneer Works Center for Art and Innovation (New York, USA). His most recent commission is as curator of the Slovenian Pavilion at the 56th edition of La Biennale di Venezia.
Curator of David Gothard Archives Collection (London, Gorizia), fellow researcher of the Anna Mahler Association and Chief Curator of Projects of The Marignoli di Montecorona Foundation (Spoleto, Italy), he is member of IKT International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art (Liechtenstein) and of European Network (Den Haag, Netherlands).
